What RxDecoder is — and isn't
RxDecoder is an educational health-literacy tool. It translates medical jargon into plain English and shows generic equivalents of branded medicines. It is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for a licensed physician or pharmacist.
Acceptable use
- For your own learning, or to help a family member understand their care.
- Do not upload anyone else's medical records without their consent.
- Do not abuse the AI decoder (scripted/bulk requests will be rate-limited or blocked).
- Do not rely on RxDecoder for emergency decisions — call your doctor or emergency services.
Account & content
You own the reports you upload. You grant us a limited license to process them for the purpose of running the service. Auto-added medicine entries become part of our curated catalog after editor review.
Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is". AI explanations may be wrong, incomplete, or outdated. Always verify dosage, drug interactions, and treatment plans with a qualified healthcare professional.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RxDecoder and its team are not liable for any health outcome, financial loss, or other damages arising from your use of the service.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in-app at least 14 days before they take effect.
